Mowasalat’s Karwa Driving School participated in Batabit – Qatar Centre for Motorcycles’ ‘Batabit Mile’ event earlier this month.
The event, held at the training airport in Al Khor, offered various theoretical and practical safe driving presentations.
In a statement yesterday, Mowasalat said participation in ‘Batabit Mile’ came as part of its social responsibility.
Among the highlights of the participation was a seat belt convincer demonstration equipment, with advice on the importance of seat belts along with statistics on deaths and casualties for not using seat belts. The vital issue of accidents was also addressed, featuring statistics were presented on the causes of mortality and how to avoid them, including the use of mobile phones and texting while driving, the importance of keeping adequate distance between vehicles, overspeeding and its risks, driving under the influence of alcohol with goggle vision and driving in difficult weather conditions. Besides, other important tips and guidance were also provided to motorists.
During the exhibition, various tests and practical presentations were carried out using driving simulators and guidance from specialised trainers at Karwa Driving School. The audience mainly included participants from among bikers, their families, as well as Al Khor city residents, who interacted and experienced the demonstration through the
equipment. 
“We also displayed our latest school bus. The audience came to our stand to check the interior of the school bus and learn about the special safety characteristics and features on board Mowasalat Co school buses, adopting international school bus safety standards,” the
statement noted.
Mowasalat stressed that it is working with a mission “to provide transport solutions in a safe and environment-friendly, conscious way for the welfare of residents and visitors in Qatar, and was happy to participate in the ‘Batabit Mile’ event”.
The company is framing its safety strategy with a focus on driving/traffic/road safety in its action plan to deliver the national safety strategy objectives. Over the past years, the company has been participating in several stakeholder and customer initiatives through presentations and demonstrations pertaining to driving and road safety.
