Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) on Thursday celebrated the International Women's Day (IWD) by organising a bell-ringing ceremony to commemorate and recognise Qatari women's role in the country's economic and social development.
The ceremony was attended by Rashid bin Ali al-Mansoori, chief executive of QSE, and several businesswomen and public figures from the diplomatic and business domains.
“The commemoration of the IWD by QSE expresses our belief in the importance of women's role in supporting sustainable development and economic activity. We are proud of the achievements of Qatari women in various political, economic, social and educational fields, and their contribution to the realisation of the human pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030,” al-Mansoori said.
Stressing that QSE has a clear interest in empowering women to carry out pioneering tasks in the Qatari capital market, he said the stock exchange believes in the importance of women participation in the trading market, economic activity, sustainable development and innovation.
