The 7th edition of Halal Qatar Festival will open on Friday at 4pm at the southern area of Katara – the Cultural Village, featuring three main events: Al Mazayeen, auction and stables. 
Scheduled to run until March 10, the festival will also feature educational and entertainment activities, stage shows and competitions to be held in the morning as well as evening. 
According to Katara, the festival will organise eight art workshops, designed to motivate participating children in paintings and sculptures using various means such as dyed sheep wool.
Some craft workshops related to livestock products will be held for different age groups. Other activities include horse and camel rides.
The activities will be supervised by a group of artists and specialists, including teaching students how to feed animals and milk goats.
This edition of the festival will host an elite auction, which includes distinct types of halal, Arithi goats, best Arab sheep and best Syrian sheep.
The programme will be divided into two sessions, from 8am to 12noon and from 3pm to 10pm. School visits will be held in the morning and the auction between Asr and Maghreb prayers.
