The Compensations Claims Committee has received 7,000 applications from those affected by the unjust blockade imposed on Qatar since June 5, 2017 by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt.

Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the claims include 4,000 submitted by individuals and 3,000 by various companies. An official source at the Committee said it has completed 34 weeks of work and is continuing to collect, classify and document all the claims and take the necessary steps with the help of legal experts. They study each case separately to take the proper course.
Besides, the Committee has finished classifying and documenting around 95% of the claims submitted by the companies that sustained losses and economic damages due to the blockade.

An international law firm has been following up each case with the Committee.
A source at the Committee stressed that the majority of the recently submitted claims are from people who sustained damages after they were denied access to their real estate property in the UAE. However, all the grievances of Qatari students, who used to study in the blockading countries have been fully resolved. The Committee, established by the government shortly after the blockade, continues to receive claims at its headquarter at the Palm Tower.
