Moderate to heavy rain is expected over most areas including Doha, especially from Saturday evening until Sunday morning, at times accompanied by strong winds, Qatar Meteorology Department announced Friday.
A warning has also been issued against all marine activities.
The wind speed is expected to touch 25 knots during thundery rain at times, both inshore and offshore.
The Met office had tweeted on Thursday that chances of rain are likely to improve Saturday and Sunday in most places around Qatar.
On Wednesday, the Met department had said there were chances of rain around the country until the end of next week due to a spell of ‘unsettled weather’.
Scattered light rain was detected in parts of the country and offshore areas on Thursday, it added.
The maximum temperature 28C, is forecast at Abu Samra, and the minimum, 16C, at Al Khor on Saturday.
