Photography community of Indonesian women in Qatar known as Kompakers Qatar (KQ) recently celebrated the third anniversary.
The group comprises of 32 members mostly housewives of Indonesia expatriates working in various sectors such as  banking, trade, services, infrastructures, hospitalities and oil and gas industry. The KQ members spread across Doha, Wakrah, Messaied, Al khor, and Dukhan under the leadership of Yayan Suryani.
KQ is part of Upload Kompakan (UK) based in Indonesia. Kompak means always together. The group was first announced on January 7, 2015, at Souq Waqif, Doha.
Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Air Marshal (Ret) Muhammad Basri Sidehabi congratulated KQ for its anniversary. The envoy welcomed and appreciated the efforts of the Indonesian community in Qatar (Permiqa) led by Edwin Kurniawan with its various community organisations for participating and fully supporting the activities of the embassy.
Upload Kompakan (UK) was founded in September 2014 by Echi Sofyan and her three friends. UK is a group of photographers for venting their creativity online in Instagram which currently has more than 141,000 members. Members of the UK are spread across Indonesia and even abroad in European countries, America, Australia, Asian countries, including Qatar.
In celebrating its third anniversary, KQ used  a theme of “Kompakers Qatar Moving Up” by holding various activities, such as photo contest for members, photo contest for UK members, and a get-together followed by food photography workshop, natural light workshop by Qatar’s top food photographer Mohammed J al-Ansary in Double Tree by Hilton Doha hotel. 
According to Boy Dharmawan, official of Indonesian embassy, as representatives of the Indonesian people and the government, the ambassador keeps on urging the community to be good residents by obeying all rules and regulations of the host country and keep unity and integrity among themselves.
