“With 70 years of expertise in the luxury retail market, Fifty One East has a proven record in the jewellery and watches industry, showcasing the finest pieces since the DJWE’s inception,” Fifty One East chairman and managing director Bader Abdullah al-Darwish said.
“As the first retail chain to introduce luxury brands to Qatar back in the late 1940s, we have been creating new retail benchmarks and experiences for Qatar’s discerning clientele,” he noted.
“We are proud to be part of DJWE’s 15th year celebrations along with our longtime partners which further emphasises their trust in Fifty One East and the continuous growth of the luxury retail industry in Qatar,” al-Darwish added.
Rolex, which Fifty One East has represented since 1951, will astonish visitors with many anticipated designs from Basel World 2017.
The highlights of this year are the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller that celebrated its 50th anniversary and added for the first time the cyclops lens over the date, along with the Rolex Cellini Moonphase, featuring an exclusive display of the lunar cycle with a blue enamelled disc at 6 o’clock, with the full moon depicted by a meteorite applique and the new moon by a silver ring.
Boucheron is celebrating its 160th anniversary with a series of events throughout the year, beginning with the launch of Vendorama in January that pays tribute to Boucheron’s history and the name is a homage to the maison’s address of Place Vendome.
Within the jewellery exhibition, they will present dazzling additions to their iconic collections of Quatre, Serpent Boheme and Nature Triomphante along with exceptional pieces from their high jewellery collection, Hiver Imperial.
This year, Boucheron is also presenting an exceptional set of coloured stones on Boucheron’s signature mountings. Chanel Fine Jewellery presents the Flying Cloud Fine Jewellery collection, which is  inspired by and named after the yacht which belonged to the second Duke of Westminster.  Tudor will display an array of new releases from Basel World 2017, including the Heritage Black Bay Chrono where Tudor added a new and sort of unexpected element by turning a full-on dive watch into a “diver chronograph”.
Also, a true stunner will be present, the Heritage Black Bay S&G —the first watch in Steel and Gold from Tudor. During this special anniversary edition of the DJWE, Fifty One East will present H Moser & Cie’s limited Qatar edition, Venturer Small Seconds.
Only 10 special pieces were produced and they all come with steel case size 43mm.
