A delegation of students, faculty and staff from Georgetown University’s Global Executive Master of Business Administration (Gemba) programme visited the Qatar Petroleum (QP) headquarters yesterday as part of their visit to Qatar.
The delegation’s visit to Qatar Petroleum was designed to introduce them to Qatar’s energy sector through a discussion of QP’s history, its management of its human capital and the challenges facing the oil and gas business in the region.
Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, president and CEO of Qatar Petroleum, welcomed the delegation and wished them success in their educational journey as well as in discovering the elements of success that have made Qatar what it is today, QP said in a press statement. Al-Kaabi also provided an overview of how QP was transforming itself into becoming one of the best national oil companies in the world. Further, he highlighted the major milestones as it develops a global business and enhances its competitive position as a global energy player. 
The Georgetown delegation were later briefed by a number of QP senior executives on the various aspects of the corporation’s business and facilities, its management of its human capital and its recently launched strategy and values.
The Gemba programme is conducted as part of an international partnership with Georgetown University in the US, ESADE Business School in Spain and the INCAE Business School in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Panama. 
All candidates, who come from various parts of the world, receive dual degrees from Georgetown University and ESADE.
