Parts of Qatar experienced a rather warm National Sport Day as the temperature shot up to the high-30C levels on Tuesday.
Mesaieed recorded a maximum temperature of 38C, up by 12C from Monday’s maximum of 26C, according to information available on the Qatar Met department’s social media channels.
Other places that recorded high temperatures on Tuesday were Abu Samra - 37C (up by 6C from Monday’s 31C), Jumayliyah - 37C (up by 7C from Monday’s 30C), Batna - 37C (up by 7C from Monday’s 30C), Karana - 37C (up by 6C from Monday’s 31C), Turayna – 36C (up by 7C from Monday’s 29C) and Shehaimiya – 35C (up by 7C from Monday’s 28C).
In Doha, the maximum temperature was 27C, up by just 1C from Monday’s 26C.
The minimum and maximum temperatures expected in different parts of the country on Wednesday are: Doha – 18C and 28C, Abu Samra – 15C and 30C, Mesaieed and Wakrah – 19C and 28C, Al Khor – 18C and 26C, Ruwais – 18C and 24C, and Dukhan – 15C and 24C.
Meanwhile, strong winds are expected in some places at times on Wednesday, and similar conditions are also likely offshore along with high seas and poor visibility. 
The wind speed may go up to 20 knots in some inshore areas and 35 knots in offshore areas towards the north in the early hours of the day. 
Partly cloudy conditions, slight to blowing dust in some places at times and a relatively cold night have been forecast in inshore areas. Offshore, it will be dusty and cloudy at times, with the sea level rising to 14ft in the north at first, the weather report states.
