Following are some of the highlights of Tuesday's National Sport Day activities around Qatar:

Aspire Zone Foundation

Outdoor activities: Fun Run - Taking place on a 3km course around Khalifa International Stadium. Registration is from 6.30am to 7.30am, and the race starts at 8am and is expected to finish at 11am.

Opening Ceremony (Warm-up) - 'Step Choreography’ and ‘Be Strong’ demonstrations, followed by a 15-minute warm-up exercise in Aspire Park, from 8am to 8.30am.

Children-only activities: Activities organised especially for children on Pitch 10 from 9am to 3pm.

Dodgeball: Taking place on Pitch 10 from 9am until 1pm.

Japanese kendo: From 9am to 12noon on football Pitch 10.

Nordic Walk:The Nordic Walk will take place from 11am to 1pm at Aspetar’s West Wing.

Indoor activities at Aspire Dome: ‘Challenge the Champion’from 10am to 4pm at Aspire Dome’s Indoor Athletics Track.

‘Football Performance and Science Activities’ take place on the Indoor Football Pitch from 10am to 4pm.

Multi-skill activities for little boys from 10am to 4pm in Multipurpose Hall 01, while young girls can enjoy racket sports and gymnastic circuit activities in Multipurpose Hall 02 from 10am to 1pm.

‘Teamwork Challenges’ from 10am to 3pm at the Gymnastics Hall.

Aspire Football Tournament: To be held on Aspire Zone’s outdoor pitches 3, 4 and 5 from 9am until 12noon.

Qatar Foundation

A number of events will be held across venues such as Oxygen Park, Al Shaqab, Ceremonial Court, Recreation Centre and the Green Spine.

Activities include a 2km walkathon, from 8am at Student Centre before heading towards the Ceremonial Court.

50km ultra marathon from the Ceremonial Court at 8.20am, going around Education City.

40km cycling from the Ceremonial Court at 8.20am.

Oxygen Park activities from 9am to 4pm.

'The Challenge' at Al Shaqab from 9am to 4m (general) and from 4.30pm to 6.30pm (women only).

Student Centre events include special activities for women and children.

Family-oriented activities will take place at the Recreation Centre, including swimming for children with autism, goal ball – a football activity for the blind, a gymnastics and trampoline display, a squash tournament and slalom football – blindfolded football to raise blind awareness.

Katara - the Cultural Village

Katara will receive visitors from 8am to enjoy different sports activities presented in co-operation different entities in the country.

Activities include roman wrestling, tennis, sailing boats, football, a parade of children with special needs as well as nautical games, etc.

The activities will continue until 6pm pm along the esplanade and Katara Beach.

Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park

Ooredoo is hosting over 40 activities from 8am to 5pm at MIA Park.

Highlights include football matches, a penalty shootout, handball, human chess, mini golf, boxing, table tennis, archery, tug-of-war, karate, aerobics, and basketball, among others.

Miscellaneous

Mall of Qatar: a yoga class, a fitness challenge and a healthy breakfast along with a lunch corner at AlRayyan Hotel Doha; fencing in the luxury court, basketball competitions at East Gate 1, zumba and stretching at East Gate 3, the outdoor Fun Fair; a BMX, skating and rope jumping show until February 21, at 5.30pm and 8.30pm at the Oasis Stage.

Doha Festival City: The mall is hosting an indoor obstacle course in the Centre Court and a popup area where children can test their skills in tennis, golf and football in the South Food Court. The activities will take place from 10am until 8pm.

Various government, private and other entities are holding National Sport Day activities at different venues in the country. These include the Qatar Armed Forces, from 7am to 4pm at Katara; Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), from 8am at Katara; Hamad Medical Corporation, which will hold events for patients, staff and other members of the community at a number of its facilities, and activities have also been organised at The Pearl-Qatar and Katara between 8am and 6pm; Qatar Olympic Committee (Aspire), Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (Aspire), National Human Rights Committee (Aspire), Qatar Charity (Aspire) and others.
Celebrations have also been lined up at The Pearl-Qatar (from 8am to 4pm, Lido Venezia Beach and Porto Arabia Boardwalk) and other places.

At Asian Town, the programme includes a bicycle fun race at 8.30am, followed by basketball (male), volleyball (male and female), cycling, skating, team-building/obstacle relay, a karate demonstration class, poster-painting competition, tug-of-war competition in association, cricket match, car show and kids' sports meet.
