HEC Paris, one of the world’s leading providers of executive education, has presented an updated version of its Specialised Master’s in Business Unit Management (SBUM) degree programme.
The updated master’s degree is designed to give participants a distinct advantage in the competitive employment market. The 18-month programme targets professionals and entrepreneurs seeking to enhance their leadership and management skills or looking at managing their own business.
The programme structure includes a core curriculum taken by all participants, a professional thesis writing and the flexibility to customise part of the programme by following one of three tracks aligned to participants’ chosen career aspirations: general management, marketing and sales or human resources (HR) management.
HEC Paris in Qatar dean and CEO Dr Nils Plambeck, SBUM academic director Dr Wolfgang Amann, Commercial Bank’s AGM, asset and liability management head Omran Yousef MH al-Sherawi (also SBUM alumnus class of 2013), addressed the launch event held at the HEC Paris Doha Campus, at Tornado Tower, yesterday. “We have a deep understanding of today’s global business landscape and the expertise to develop professionals with the skills they need to further enhance their leadership and management skills,” Dr Plambeck said. “In partnership with Qatar Foundation, we are committed to training and developing the region’s business leaders of tomorrow.”
A team of experts led by Dr Amann will guide participants through the core curriculum that will focus on understanding, creating and implementing a successful strategy, understanding finance, leadership, and change management. They will also have access to world-renowned HEC Paris faculty professor Francois Railliet, who will lead the HR management track, and professor Christopher Hogg, who will lead the marketing and sales track.
Expressing his appreciation for the programme, al-Sherawi explained: “The skills you develop and the knowledge and expertise you have access to, at a renowned business school like HEC Paris, are invaluable to help you in achieving your goals.”
All executive short programmes and certificates taken separately can be used towards the specialised master’s degree programme at a later stage. The next intake for the new SBUM programme will be in July 2018.
