Qatar’s friendly environment is a major attraction for expatriates and tourists alike, Doha resident Riaz Salman told Qatar Urdu Radio’s live show Haqeeqat yesterday.
“Qatar has many friendly rules for expatriates, which is why people like to come and live here. This is something I’ve constantly heard from people around me,” he said.
“People are free to speak their minds here and live as they please. The locals are also always very welcoming towards expatriates.”
Salman, a civil engineer by profession, said that Qatar’s ties with many countries have also strengthened since the siege.
“The defence and military ties of Qatar have strengthened with countries like Turkey and France among others. This is a result of the diplomatic efforts of the Qatari leadership since the siege was imposed by our neighbours.”
He was of the opinion that Qatar continues to deal with the propaganda spread in the blockading countries of Saudi Arabia and the UAE through various media platforms with maturity through reports based on facts.
Haqeeqat is a joint venture of the Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corp Urdu Radio. The show, hosted by Saif-ur-Rehman, aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar.
