More agreements would be reached between the Council of Europe and Qatar in different areas of anti-doping and also to enhance public safety and security in major sport venues, it was announced at the conclusion of the 1st Major Event Safety and Security Conference.

"The participants also agreed to strengthen their contacts further on a global platform for the exchange of their skills and expertise in different areas of safety and security," explained Major Ali Mohamed al-Ali, deputy executive director of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy's Security Committee.

This would be done through the extensive use and applications of the Knowledge Management System, developed by Qatar and the Interpol.

It was also decided to include more training opportunities for the member countries of the Interpol in the areas of policing and security at the hosting of major events. It will be done as part of the expansion of the Interpol's Project Stadia's capacity development programme.

Members have also agreed to continue their support to the major event policing and security by sharing their knowledge and expertise to the Knowledge Management System.

The participants identified opportunities to contribute to and benefit from different areas of the Project Stadia activities, such as debriefing programmes, training activities, guidance and development of standards and international networks of subjects experts.

It was also announced that the Interpol will continue to work with the hosts of Major Events in coming editions in order to learn more about the newly developed methods and practices.

The two-day meeting, held the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, was attended by 350 security experts from 65 countries and international organisations.
