In line with the directives of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, a C-17 plane belonging to the Emiri Air Force at the Ministry of Defence has left for Mogadishu International Airport in Somalia.
The plane carried medical equipment and first aid to help the injured following the terrorist explosions that took place in the Somali capital recently, killing and injuring hundreds. 
The team is accompanied by Qatar International Search and Rescue Group and a comprehensive medical team from the Qatar Armed Forces and Hamad Medical Corporation. 
The medical team with the latest medical equipment will help treat the wounded and evacuate them through an air bridge to receive treatment outside Somalia.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs will handle the coordination of receiving them and providing them with medical services from accredited hospitals. 
The standing committee for rescue and relief operations and humanitarian aids for areas afflicted by catastrophes in brotherly and friendly countries headed by Lekhwiya prepared and coordinated with the concerned authorities to ensure the delivery of aid assistance to Somalia.
