Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to counter terrorism through many means, journalist Ashraf Siddiqui told Qatar Urdu Radio’s live radio show Haqeeqat on Thursday.
A guest on the show for the second consecutive day, Siddiqui discussed some of the issues addressed in the speech of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani at the 72nd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
“His Highness the Emir categorically stated that Qatar has fought terrorism – the whole international community bears witness to that – and it is still fighting it and will continue to do that.”
“As part of its commitment to fight extremist ideology, Qatar is already providing free education to 7mn children around the world,” Siddiqui added.
Haqeeqat aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar. A joint venture of the Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corporation Urdu Radio, it is broadcast from Sunday to Thursday on FM107.
