The Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Institute held an introductory session for 32 new nominees for the diplomatic corps as part of the second foundation programme for this year.
Speaking at the event, Diplomatic Institute Assistant Director Nadia Ahmed al-Shaibi highlighted the importance of following up on the political and economic developments at the local and international levels. She urged the new nominees to be punctual, stressing its significance as it reflects seriousness and attention, which are basics of diplomatic work.
“Whoever joins the diplomatic work must continue self-learning so as to cope with developments in the political and diplomatic work,” she added.
She made a brief presentation about the specialties and departments of the Diplomatic Institute and explained the objectives of the foundation programme and the qualification programmes of the ministry staff that help them learn about the leading experiments in diplomatic work.
The Diplomatic Institute’s assistant director also presented a briefing about the training programme, including the enrolment requirements, objectives and duration, and its importance for new Foreign Ministry staff members.
