The Claims Compensation Committee, launched on June 9, has received up to 6,297 applications from those harmed due to the blockade throughout the past three months.

Sources at the committee told local Arabic daily Arrayah that more than 3,000 applications have been classified electronically, as they include complete documents and information. The committee's work is continuing.
In the meantime, Qatar Chamber referred 129 related files from different companies to the committee in two batches. The last of these included 77 files concerning those who faced serious harm. Qatar Chamber receives the related complaints of companies and economic entities, classifies and refers them to the committee.
Similarly, the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) referred 3,446 related applications to the committee. A British law firm held a meeting with the committee before the recent Eid al-Adha holidays to discuss its offer for help and consultation with the legal issues involved.
The committee received on Sunday five complaints and three phone calls inquiring about the necessary procedures and documents to submit an application, just after resuming work pursuant to the Eid Holidays.
The committee receives applications from the persons who have incurred different damages due to the unjust blockade imposed on the country by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.
The damages include financial loss, loss of access to property, severing of family ties, denying family members across the GCC region the right to free movement and contacts within the region, students expelled from their study institutes and denied access to complete their education, and even patients who were suddenly denied the right to complete their treatment or see their doctors at the blockade countries. The committee receives applications from individuals, whether Qataris or expatriates, and would be working until all the involved issues are addressed adequately.
