His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
During the call, the two leaders discussed the latest developments related to the Gulf crisis in light of Kuwait’s efforts to resolve it through diplomatic means and dialogue between all parties to ensure security and stability of the region.
Trump briefed the Emir on the results of his talks with Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah in this regard.
The Emir expressed appreciation for the generous efforts of Sheikh Sabah as well as his keenness to pursue resolving the current dispute.
He also welcomed the position of the US president on the need to resolve this crisis through dialogue to ensure the unity and stability of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries.
In this regard, the Emir stressed the firm position of the State of Qatar on resolving differences through constructive dialogue that does not affect the sovereignty of states.
The Emir and Trump also discussed means of supporting and strengthening the strategic co-operation between the two friendly countries in various fields.
Meanwhile, HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said Trump stressed on the US commitment to end the Gulf crisis and he appreciated the Kuwaiti mediation efforts.
The foreign minister said the 13 demands breached Qatar’s sovereignty. 
“What is required is a mechanism for dialogue,” he said, adding the measures taken against Qatar should be undone.
He said “its is regrettable that a military solution was considered during the crisis.”
Sheikh Mohamed said Trump’s call was positive.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain cut diplomatic and trade links with Qatar on June 5, suspending air and shipping routes with the world’s biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas, which is home to the region’s biggest US military base.
The nations say Doha supports Iran and Islamists, charges Qatar’s leaders deny. Kuwait has been trying to mediate the dispute.
