Everyone should strive hard to implement the directives given by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani regarding the work of the government and fulfil the aspirations of the Qatari people, HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has said.
He was addressing the Cabinet’s regular weekly meeting on Wednesday at its Emiri Diwan premises, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
After the meeting, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud said that HE the Prime Minister, who chaired the meeting, expressed thanks to all for the great efforts they have exerted since the beginning of the current crisis. 
HE the Prime Minister highlighted that the government faces great challenges, especially the achievement of the comprehensive renaissance of the State in various fields of development and economy. He noted that this will only be achieved through the embodiment of the spirit of national responsibility and co-operation among all as one team.
While adhering to the principle of rationalisation of expenditure, HE the Prime Minister stressed the need to take into account the priorities in this regard, and to address the concerns of citizens and their problems.
He noted the importance of addressing the mistakes that would appear during the work and impede the country's progress in upgrading the public services provided to citizens and residents, to reach the level that is appropriate for the homeland. 
The Cabinet took the necessary measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. (11) of 1990 establishing the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, after reviewing the recommendation of the Advisory Council on the draft law.
The draft law included the amendment of articles (4, 6, 13, 15, 17, 22, 27, 28/ first paragraph, 29/ second paragraph, 38) and the schedule of fees attached to this law.
The Cabinet also approved a draft resolution of the Minister of the Interior to amend some provisions of Decree No. (12) of 2008 regarding insurance fees for non-Qatari mechanical vehicles.
Further, the Cabinet approved draft agreements for cultural co-operation and in the field of education between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Spain.
Also approved were draft air services agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Dominican Republic as well as the Republic of Peru.
The Cabinet also reviewed a letter by the chairman of the Tax Appeal Committee at the Ministry of Finance on a report on the work of the Committee during the period from January 1 to June 30, 2017 and took the appropriate decision.
The committee, established at the Ministry of Finance and headed by a judge of the Court of Appeal and composed of representatives of the concerned authorities, is competent to adjudicate the grievances submitted by the taxable taxpayer. 
The committee submits its periodic reports to the Cabinet on the number of grievances submitted to them and their reasons, and its recommendations thereon. During the period, the committee held nine meetings, reviewed 56 grievances and issued 49 decisions.
