Qatari boxer Abdellatif Mohamed Sadiq has been able to break into the Guinness Book of Records after accomplishing 72 push-ups in just one minute in the two-finger push-up exercise, which no other athlete in the world has been able to achieve.
Sadiq's success came on the day the Federation of Boxing and Wrestling, chaired by Youssef al-Kazim, launched the Tamim Al Majd mural. A large crowd comprising federation members and media witnessed Sadiq's entry to the records book.
"I was keen to document this Qatari achievement through the presence of various media, especially the sports channels because of its international reputation, and to preserve the rights of this achievement to Sadiq," al-Kazim said as he expressed his delight with the achievement. He also congratulated Sadiq and wished him good luck.
Sadiq voiced his happiness, stressing that the Qatari sport was on a solid ground and could reach global standards.
