His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held yesterday evening a telephone conversation with  the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
During the phone call, they reviewed the latest developments in the region, especially the Gulf crisis and the efforts exerted by the sisterly State of Kuwait  to overcome the crisis  and heal the rift in order to strengthen the march of brothers in the GCC states to achieve security and stability.
HH the Emir expressed his thanks and appreciation to  the Emir of Kuwait for his good efforts to resolve the Gulf crisis. Qatar is reviewing a list of demands presented by four Arab states imposing a boycott on it, but said the list was not reasonable or actionable.
“We are reviewing these demands out of respect for regional security and there will be an official response from our ministry of foreign affairs,” Sheikh Saif al-Thani, the director of Qatar’s government communications office, said in a statement to Reuters.
The statement said US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson had recently called upon Saudi Arabia and the other countries to produce a list of grievances that was “reasonable and actionable.”
“This list does not satisfy that criteria,” it said.
HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani  received a telephone call from US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson yesterday.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and means to promote them in addition to the latest developments between the GCC member states.
The Foreign Minister also received a telephone call from his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian. They discussed bilateral relations, as well as the latest developments in the GCC.
AFP adds from Washington: The White House said yesterday it considers the  crisis in the Gulf to be primarily “a family issue,” urging regional leaders to chart a way out while offering US help in enabling talks.


Qatar prepares response

A statement issued yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the State of Qatar is currently studying the demands and the foundations on which they were based, in order to prepare an appropriate response to it and hand it over to Kuwait.
The statement affirmed Qatar’s gratitude and appreciation for Kuwait’s efforts aiming to mediate the current crisis.
