Some 1,255 people have benefited from Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) Al Khor branch’s Ramadan charity campaign in Al Khor and Al Shamal, which involved social, medical, and public welfare activities.
Prior to the start of Ramadan, the branch distributed food packs to 245 low-income families in Al Khor and neighbouring districts to meet their needs during the holy month. Each pack consists of rice, sugar, vegetable oil, and milk.
Beneficiaries thanked QRCS for its humanitarian solidarity with vulnerable groups of society.
QRCS also distributed Zakat-ul-fitr and Eid stipend to 110 needy families and orphans, at a total cost of QR90,000.
The branch organised a campaign at mosques to offer free medical checkups, which aims to raise health awareness.
At least 300 mosque visitors were also informed about the benefits of fasting and how to avoid its health impact on “chronic patients,” under the supervision of the Mosques Department of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
QRCS’s Al Khor branch, together with Qatar Charity, also marked the Garangao night recently with a children’s party at the Tawasul Park in Al Khor. It also participated in the activities of the Ramadan Tent held by Eid Charity’s Qatar Guest Centre at Al Khor Mall.
In both events, the branch provided ambulatory coverage and physiological examinations for the public, benefiting more than 300 people.
