Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros Co (AAB), the sole distributor for Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Qatar, has held the Anti-Counterfeit Spare Parts Awareness Programme with the slogan ‘Toyota says no to counterfeit’.
The event was held at the Main Workshop Training Centre on Street 6 in the Industrial Area. It was part of AAB’s continuous educational and advocacy programme for customers, conducted with the aim of promoting Toyota Genuine Parts awareness, according to a press statement from AAB.
Toyota Genuine Parts and Toyota Quality Services are designed with the “highest standards in all processes” to keep Toyota cars running for the years to come.
Toyota does not compromise with quality and carries out continuous product improvement, the statement notes. “Each Toyota unit guarantees hassle-free driving and comes with that priceless peace-of-mind,” it adds.
AAB has advised all Toyota customers to visit certified Toyota Service Centres and authorised dealers across Qatar for quality services and genuine parts.
“Imitation products have hit the global market in key items such as oil filter, air filter, spark plug, belts and brake pads. Fake and imitation parts are dangerous and may put lives at risk. Non-genuine parts may look like the real thing but they have not been made, selected or approved by the maker of the car and have never been tested as an integral component of the vehicle by the manufacturer,” AAB said.
“Non-genuine parts cannot promise the same quality and safety attributes that come with a genuine part. Consumers who value security and safety for their vehicles and passengers should not compromise on this and should only use genuine parts.”
It was highlighted during the programme that some outlets in Qatar are unauthorised agents illegally using the Toyota Genuine Parts logo without AAB’s approval.
AAB is unable to certify that parts sold through such shops are Toyota Genuine Parts.
In the fight against counterfeit items, AAB has stressed that it appreciates the initiatives by the Consumer Protection Department, including Market Watch and Gulf Consumer Protection Week, which highlighted the use of genuine spare parts and products.
As part of the Anti-Counterfeit Day programme, the AAB Spare Parts Department organised a genuine parts and counterfeit exhibition, engine and transmission function demonstration, genuine parts and quality service video presentation at its Service Centre Training Centre.
Appointed AAB dealers, selected representatives from government organisations as well as the public attended the sessions.
