Aspetar – the orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital in Qatar, has launched ‘Healthy Ramadan with Aspetar Experts’ campaign for professional and recreational athletes on its social media channels. The initiative is being promoted on social media with the hashtag #Healthy_Ramadan
Aspetar’s campaign aims to encourage people to remain active and healthy during the holy month of Ramadan. The campaign will feature a multidisciplinary team of experts in nutrition, psychology, research, and oral health amongst others.
Through a range of tips and advice captured in short videos, Aspetar’s experts will provide guidance for people fasting on a range of topics. These include diet, sleep patterns and optimal exercise times.
The campaign will also draw on the expertise of Aspetar’s world-renowned medical professionals, by sharing details of leading research they have produced on the effects of fasting on sports performance and overall health. These will be particularly relevant and useful for athletes preparing for major competitions taking place during Ramadan such as the Confederation of African Football Champions League 2017.
The expert video series will be available through Aspetar’s YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels. Ramadan-related health topics will also be the focus of the latest edition of Namat magazine, produced by Aspetar and due to be issued soon.
Aspetar produces a wide range of videos to encourage people to be active and healthy year-round, featuring topics such as useful exercises and common diseases related to sedentary lifestyles.
