Diesel and super gasoline will be slightly cheaper in Qatar next month, although the premium gasoline price will remain unchanged in June, the Ministry of Energy and Industry said on Monday.
The ministry said the 95-octane super gasoline (petrol) will cost QR1.65 a litre next month instead of QR1.70 now while diesel price will come down to QR1.55 a litre in June instead of QR1.60 now.
However, there will be no change in the price of premium gasoline, which will remain at QR1.60 a litre in June.
Fuel prices in Qatar were allowed to fluctuate in response to changes in the global market from May 1 last year.
Every month, a special committee comprising representatives from various government bodies, would review fuel prices (gasoline and diesel) and make recommendations on proposed prices for the local market accordingly.
The monthly revision in local fuel prices followed the government’s decision on fuel subsidy reforms in Qatar.
