Strong winds are expected in parts of the country by Sunday night, the Qatar Met department has said.

Offshore areas, too, are likely to see strong winds along with high seas by the night, according to the weather report.

The forecast came even as the temperature touched 45C in some places on Saturday and similar hot conditions are likely on Sunday as well.

The detailed forecast for Sunday says the wind speed may go up to 24 knots in some inshore areas by the night.

It will be hazy in some places in the early hours, followed by hot daytime conditions.

Slight to blowing dust is also expected in some areas by the night.

Offshore, the wind speed may go up to 25 knots by tonight, and slightly dusty conditions have also been forecast along with some clouds.

The sea level, meanwhile, may rise to 8FT.

A maximum temperature of 44C is expected on Sunday in Doha, Mesaieed, Wakrah and Al Khor, followed by 43C in Abu Samra.

Saturday, the maximum was 45C in the Qatar University area, Sheehaniya, Al Rayyan, Mesaieed and other places, while in Doha it was 44C.

On Thursday, the Met department had said in a report that strong winds, dust and low visibility were expected to affect the country from Sunday night until Tuesday.
