Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said yesterday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had become a security risk for the country.
Speaking to members of the PTI lawyers’ forum and media personnel, he said Sharif had no option but to resign from his office after the Supreme Court’s judgment in the Panama Papers case.
He alleged that all members of the federal government and PML-N leaders were trying to save the Sharif family which was facing investigation
in the Panama Papers case.
Talking about the decision of the International Court of Justice in Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case, the PTI chief severely criticised the government for what he called its poor preparation for the case.
The verdict was an outcome of the government’s incompetence, he said, adding that the government was sleeping over the issue. He said the ICJ decision was a disappointment for the nation.
He alleged that the government had damaged all national institutions. The Pakistan International Airlines was facing huge losses and accidents had become routine for the Pakistan Railways, he added.
Answering a question, he said he wanted to visit Quetta earlier, but he was extremely busy with the Panama Papers case.
The PTI chief said successive governments had always neglected Balochistan and that was the cause of the province’s backwardness. He said corruption was a big hurdle in the way of the province’s development. He said the PTI would raise voice for the rights of Balochistan and take all possible measures to remove the sense of deprivation in its people.
