The Qatar University Alumni Association (QUAA) has appointed HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada as president at the recent annual meeting of its board of directors.
The event featured the honouring of QUAA former president and chairman of Friends of the Environment Centre Dr Saif Ali al-Hajari and the former distinguished members of QUAA board.
In his remarks, HE Dr al-Sada described Qatar University (QU) as the “Key of Life” that opens doors for its graduates, giving them access to development, growth and prosperity.
“Every Qatari household has been directly or indirectly attached to QU. I am so proud of being one of QU’s 40,000 alumni. Since its establishment in 2012, the association has served as a link that binds together thousands of graduates from all over the world, regardless of their interests, profession and country affiliation,” he said.
QU president Dr Hassan al-Derham said: “QU graduates are the university’s ambassadors everywhere and we are proud when our graduates are appointed in various positions that have a significant impact on the society and its social and economic growth. QU relies on its Alumni Association to achieve its various strategies and objectives.”
QU Alumni and Stakeholder Relations manager Rana AlFalasi said that QUAA is committed to organising regular meetings for its members to exchange views and develop plans.
