Al Rayyan Municipality conducted 1,038 technical inspection tours in March, in addition to two sudden inspection campaigns of food facilities within the municipality.
These tours resulted in issuing 123 violation reports, signing 11 affidavits by the violators, and the destruction of 36 full sheep carcasses found unfit for human consumption. During the same period 39 food samples were sent to the central laboratories for tests. The collected fines amounted to QR201,000.
The number of inspections to issue new commercial licences amounted to 99, while five temporary new licences were issued.
Similarly, Al Sheehaniya Municipality conducted 906 inspection tours in March on general control, health and technical issues, with 25 violation reports issued and two food outlets closed temporarily for violations. Besides, 19 abandoned vehicles were removed.
