Qatar Museums (QM) CEO and HE the chairperson’s special adviser Mansoor bin Ebrahim al-Mahmoud honoured the participants of the second annual training programme on ‘Techniques of Making Weapons in the Stone Age’. The participants came from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar. Archaeologists and museum professionals from the GCC countries were invited to learn about the history of human settlement in the Gulf, dating back to the prehistoric period, by exploring the different uses of weapons and their importance in tasks including self-defence and food preparation. This initiative falls in line with QM’s goals to honour the traditions of the past whilst embracing the future.
