The Arabic Language Department at Qatar University College of Arts and Sciences (QU-CAS) will hold the “First Meeting of the Departments of Arabic Language in the GCC” on March 2.
Details of the event were outlined by CAS Arabic Language Department Head Dr Maryam Al-Naemi, Assistant Professor at CAS Arabic Language Department, at a press conference yesterday.
Themed “Study Plans and Variables Age - Development Challenges and Prospects Update”, the event aims to promote the development of the Arabic language in the GCC.
It will bring together 22 heads of Arabic language departments from universities in the GCC to discuss and share their knowledge and expertise and provide efficient solutions for the challenges that face the development of the Arabic language in the region.
The event’s programme will feature a number of sessions focused on a wide range of topics such as “The plan and student: language and research skills”, “Teaching methods and content components” and “Graduate studies and prospects interfaces in the search”.
Commenting on the meeting, Dr Maryam said: “The event aligns with the Study Plan and the requirements of the labour market. It contributes to assessing the situation of the Arabic language departments in the Gulf region. It also serves to provide a platform to share and discuss the challenges that are facing the development of the Arabic language as well as the social and economic development in the Gulf communities.”
