Diego Costa could be back in the Chelsea starting line-up against Hull on Sunday after he made up with the Premier League leaders’ manager Antonio Conte, British media reported yesterday.
The 28-year-old striker — whose 14 goals this season has spurred Chelsea to a seven-point lead at the top of the table — was pictured at the club’s training ground hugging fitness coach Julio Tous, with whom apparently he had a row last week over the level of his fitness and amid reports of a big-money offer from China. The Spanish international also trained with the rest of the squad having trained on his own at the start of the week.
Both the volatile Brazil-born star and Conte claimed he had a back injury after he was omitted from the squad for last Saturday’s 3-0 win over champions Leicester. However, Costa was also said to have had his head turned by a bid from Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian, who were reportedly willing to offer him £30mn a year.

Yaya Toure rejected huge China offers: Reports

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has rejected offers from Chinese Super League clubs that would have paid the Ivorian around £430,000 a week, reports said on Tuesday.
Toure is out of contract at the end of the season and has been approached by clubs from China who have been splashing on a host of star signings in recent months. The 33-year-old is said to have been the subject of interest from China last year.
He snubbed those offers and gave the same response when he was contacted again once the winter transfer window opened this month because he would prefer to continue playing in England, the BBC and other British media said.
It remains unclear whether City, who signed Toure from Barcelona in 2010, will offer him a new deal. Toure has regained his place in the heart of City’s midfield over the past two months after a row between the club and his agent threatened to end his time at the club.
Toure was frozen out by manager Pep Guardiola after his outspoken representative Dimitri Seluk claimed the midfielder had been humiliated by his omission from City’s Champions League squad. That situation was resolved with an apology from Toure in November.

Man United ‘first’ to appoint counter-terror chief
Manchester United have appointed a counter-terrorism manager and believe they are the first Premier League club to do so, it emerged yesterday. The English football giants, who suffered two embarrassing security blunders in recent months, appointed an unnamed former member of the Manchester police and made the announcement at a fans’ forum recently.
Old Trafford is now subject to some of the most stringent security measures on match days with spectators searched at the turnstiles and cars also undergoing checks when they want to enter the car park.
It comes after last May’s Premier League match with Bournemouth saw spectators evacuated from Old Trafford when a suspect package was discovered in a toilet. The package proved to be harmless and had been placed there — and then forgotten about — by a security firm during a training exercise. The match had to be played at a later date.
In another breach two audacious United fans on a tour of Old Trafford last November hid in the loos hoping to be able then to gain access to their game with Arsenal. heir hopes were dashed as they were discovered and handed over to police.
