Qatari Armed Forces celebrated yesterday the graduation of the 7th batch of National Service recruits, in the presence of HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem and a number of senior military officers and recruits’ parents.
The 7th batch of National Service recruits received military and academic training in infantry, fitness, light weapons, shooting, field battle skills, and civil defence, along with courses on first aid, community culture, self-development and religious programmes.
On the occasion, HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces expressed, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), his delight at the graduation of this batch which reflected the evolution and progress of National Service Authority, thanks to the able guidance of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces.
He highlighted the importance attached by Qatari Armed Forces to the graduates, and stressed that the country wants its sons to join the military service.
HE al-Ghanem pointed out that the 7th batch benefited from the expertise of the experiences of several countries, adding that this was a result of the efforts spared by the specialised committees.
