The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Alfardan Automobiles, has announced the recall of BMW 7 Series Saloon model year 2011-2012 over faulty software in airbag central.   
The MEC said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
The MEC will co-ordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are
carried out.

All set for Ooredoo Marathon tomorrow
Preparations have reached the final phase for the annual Ooredoo Marathon which will take place tomorrow at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).
The fifth edition of the event has almost 1,650 registered to take part. The first race will start from the MIA Park at 6.30am, with full marathon runners taking a course that runs along the Corniche and back again.
To ensure the safety of all runners and spectators, the Corniche road, will be closed from 6.30am – 11.30am to
accommodate the races.
As well as refreshment stations for the runners along each route, Ooredoo will provide a communal warm-up session 15 minutes before each race begins to ensure that runners are
sufficiently ready to run.
Marathon spectators are requested to stand at the Corniche walkway at the Museum of Islamic Art or at the many checkpoints lining the Corniche to get an unobstructed view.
Cash prizes will be given to the best runners in a range of categories, based on age and gender.  More information could be had from Marathon.ooredoo.qa.

Attorney General meets British security official
Qatar’s Attorney General HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri met the Chairman of the British Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee and former Attorney General Dominic Grieve in London yesterday.
They reviewed the judicial and legal co-operation between Qatar and the UK and discussed topics of common interest, especially with regard to the recovery of the looted funds and the initiative of the Arab Forum in this area which was adopted by the Group of 7 (G7).
They also agreed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the judicial field.

Honey festival until Saturday
For the second consecutive week, the local honeybee festival is set to continue today at Al Khor and Al Thakhira Agriculture Products Yards. The festival, organised by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s (MME) Agriculture Affairs Department, is going on until Saturday, open daily from 7am to 5pm.
The festival will be concluded at Al Wakrah during January 19-21. The first phase of the festival was held at Al Mazrouah last week. Around 710kg of locally produced honey were sold for QR215,000 and 55kg of beeswax at QR15,000.

Poor visibility, high seas forecast
The offshore sea would rise to unusual levels of up to 9ft as strong winds are expected to lash Qatar coast during the day today, according to the weather forecasters. The average water levels could rise between five and eight ft during the day time. The visibility would be drastically poor earlier in the day and could be even below 2km in many places at times, the Met office has warned. The atmosphere could be misty as well as foggy and there are chances of dust at many locations owing to the stronger intensity of winds.
