Qatar Development Bank (QDB), in preparation for Qatar National Day, has arranged a range of activities for adults and children at Darb Al Saai, running until December 20.
The centrepiece of QDB’s presence at Darb Al Saai will be an interactive timeline showcasing the journey of the development agency, according to a press statement.
It will exhibit key events from the moment it was established by HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani up to the present day, when it has assumed a vital role in shaping social and economic prosperity, as envisioned in Qatar National Vision 2030.
QDB chief executive officer Abdulaziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa said: “We anticipate that QDB’s interactive centre will be buzzing with activity, and hope that our contribution to Darb Al Saai will bring new insight to everyone on the concept of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the vital role they play in a diversified economy.”
Visitors will able to explore ‘Souq Waqif’, a general market area where the SME community, including six member outlets from Bedaya Centre, is hosting purchasable products and services.
QDB has also installed ‘Sanea’ (mobile factory) at its interactive centre within Darb Al Saai to attract the general public and students. The installation will assist users in getting a glimpse of their business ideas simulated into a reality and raise awareness about the mechanisms and innovations that drive entrepreneurship.
Visitors can also spend time at QDB’s entrepreneur-managed cafe and restaurant area, situated in ‘the maze’ at Darb Al Saai.
