Lebanese President Michel Aoun stressed his country’s keenness on its relations with Qatar and on promoting these relations in all spheres.
During his meeting with HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani yesterday, President Aoun pointed to the constructive role played by Lebanese people in Qatar as well as in the GCC states.
He also affirmed the restoration of political and security stability to Lebanon, pointing out that this would encourage nationals of the GCC countries to visit Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Prime Minister-designate Saad al-Hariri also met with Qatar’s Foreign Minister.
The Foreign Minister conveyed congratulations of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani to Hariri on his appointment as prime minister.
During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two the countries and issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Hamad al-Marri.

Emir sends message to Lebanese president: Lebanese President Michel Aoun has received a written message from HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, dealing with bilateral ties and ways of enhancing them. The message was handed over by HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, during a meeting with the Lebanese president in Beirut yesterday. The Foreign Minister also handed over an invitation from HH the Emir to the Lebanese president to visit Qatar. The Lebanese president welcomed the invitation and promised to visit Qatar at the earliest opportunity. The Lebanese president asked the Foreign Minister to convey his greetings to HH the Emir. During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest. Lebanon’s Prime Minister Tammam Salam also met with Qatar’s Foreign Minister. During the meeting, they discussed ties between the two countries and ways of enhancing them.
