Doha Festival City, which opens its doors in February next year, confirmed the inclusion of the largest Monoprix Hypermarket worldwide.

The renowned French retail chain will boast more than 35,000 high-quality goods within its 7,000 sqm location, including several product lines that will be new and exclusive to Qatar from both local and international brands.

“Qatar’s new store will have an extensive range of locally known brands - including the widest range of organic, fresh items from local farmers,” according to a statement.

“Monoprix will also bring international brands to Qatar, for the first time, from UK, Spain, Italy and all around the world, including new make-up ranges from Paris and Milan. Bringing its own French heritage to Qatar, the store will be home to an authentic French bakery, a waffle house and an impressive “Cave à Fromage," which will be stocked with a wide selection of the finest international cheeses.

“From restaurants to concept stores, exclusive electronic corners and more, Monoprix will unite retail experiences with food and entertainment concepts.”

Sebastien Farhat, regional general manager of Monoprix said, “We believe that Doha Festival City is set to be a ‘must-visit’ destination that will become a part of the fabric of Qatar life, and so we are very proud to be opening here soon as a part of it.”

Trevor Hill, general manager of Doha Festival City Mall, expressed delight that ‘Monoprix has entrusted its largest store worldwide to Doha Festival City.’

“With the best in leisure, retail and hospitality, Festival City has meticulously selected its partners and brands to provide a comprehensive mix of leisure, retail and hospitality at its new destination.

“Monoprix will be just one of more than 500 retail brands opening on site – with other offerings including fine and casual dining, green spaces as well as indoor and outdoor entertainment hubs.

“Hypermarkets are one of the key drivers of mall footfall in Qatar, so we expect a significant portion of the 20 million visitors expected annually to be driven by Monoprix as well as our other key leisure, retail and hospitality outlets,” Hill added.
