Qatar University College of Education (QU-CED) has held an orientation event in which 12 new faculty were provided with the necessary information on the college’s programmes and services.
During the event, Dr Hissa Sadiq, formerly CED dean (2004-2016), was honoured in recognition of her significant contribution to the college’s achievements in terms of academic accreditation and programmes. Attendees included CED associate deans, faculty and staff.
CED dean Dr Ahmed al-Emadi welcomed the new faculty and wished them a successful professional journey at QU. He said: “CED is well-positioned to play a major role in fulfilling the needs of the society by providing its students with high-quality programmes and multidisciplinary knowledge while combining heritage, civilisation, cultural identity, and social change. Our faculty have a responsibility to contribute to the college’s scholarly endeavours which are aligned with QU’s mission to produce a generation of professionals and leaders who can drive the country’s development and progress.”
He also stressed the importance of strengthening links with the society, maximising impact on the wider community by advancing a vibrant research culture focused on its needs and expectations, and bringing to bear faculty and students’ expertise and experiences to various entities in Qatar and beyond.
