Another errant commercial outlet has been shut down in the country for violating norms.
The director of Al Khor and Al Thakira Municipality, Juma Khamis al-Muraikhi, issued an administrative decision to permanently close down a supermarket for selling foodstuff without obtaining the necessary licence from the authorities concerned.
The store is located behind the new Al Khor stadium, southwest of Al Khor city.
The Health Control Section at the municipality co-ordinated with the Al Khor and Al Thakira wildlife unit, Criminal Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior and Al Shamal Security Department to inspect the supermarket.
Accordingly, the authorities ordered its closure and also issued a violation report.
Recently, the Al Khor and Al Thakira Municipality had ordered the permanent closure of two other supermarkets in Al Khor and Simaisma for operating without licences.
The civic authorities also shut down a cafeteria in Doha Industrial Area after it was found using expired foodstuff.
The crackdown comes as part of efforts undertaken by the authorities to ensure the compliance of retailers, food outlets and distributors with health and hygiene conditions in preparation for Eid al-Adha.
