The Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani has participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Counter Terrorism, which is hosted by the US State Department in Washington, DC.
The meeting dealt with ways to strengthen international co-ordination and co-operation to combat terrorism.
During the meeting, the minister stressed Qatar’s commitment to continue working with the international community to promote international peace and security, warning that the continuation of the crisis in Syria and the absence of a political horizon to resolve the crisis, would hamper all international efforts  to eradicate terrorism.
The minister noted that these efforts should conform to international laws, norms of international law and human rights, stressing the importance of supporting humanitarian projects and the empowerment of local and national institutions of the communities affected by terrorism.
