The ninth edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition will be supported by Qatar Chamber (QC) and Qatar Businesswomen Forum (QBWF) as strategic partners.
Both institutions believe that harnessing the potential of women entrepreneurs is important in promoting sustainable development in Qatar and the region, the organisers have stressed in a statement.
Heya is organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and delivered by Design Creationz, an event management and marketing company based in Qatar. This year’s exhibition will be held from June 2-6 at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
“We are delighted with the strong support extended by the exhibition partners, Qatar Chamber and Qatar Businesswomen Forum. Their encouragement is vital in boosting the skills of female designers working to become entrepreneurs in their field. With QTA’s support, we hope to work together with these partners to deliver business events where innovators and entrepreneurs can promote Qatar as a business destination,” said Shaikha Alsulaiti, spokesperson for Design Creationz.
Ibtihaj Ahmed al-Ahmadani, QC board member and chairperson of QBWF, said the organisations are keen on participating in the Heya exhibition as strategic partners who support the development of opportunities for businesswomen to showcase their work on local and regional platforms.
She noted that both QC and QBWF pay great attention to backing and assisting female entrepreneurs because they play important roles in the Qatari private sector and the national economy in general.
“Our support for this exhibition is a rallying call for a positive attitude towards female entrepreneurship by empowering them with new opportunities and acknowledging them as powerful drivers of economic development,” she added.
Meanwhile, the organisers have said bookings for exhibition stands are in their final stages and only a few spots remain available.
Among the first to book their places were Debaj, Al Dukan and M Jay Design (all from Qatar), Sahar al-Homoud (Kuwait), Wings Collection (the UAE), Haifa Fahad (Saudi Arabia) and Dar Naseem Alandalos (Bahrain).
The exhibition will include Gulf-designed abayas, kaftans, jalabiyas, veils and gowns, as well as accessories such as belts, bags and shoes. Fashion enthusiasts, designers and potential customers can enjoy five days of fashion shows, hands-on workshops and fashion forums led by industry experts.
