A total of 24 organisations and companies will organise their National Sport Day (NSD) events at the Aspire Zone Foundation ( AZF) this year. The NSD falls on February 9, the second Tuesday of February.

The Aspire Park will be transformed into a giant sports field for the occasion featuring a number of unique sporting activities and a fun-filled atmosphere. In addition, there are a wide range of activities organised by AZF and its member organisations in the park’s spacious fields and across its modern facilities.

Abdullah al-Khater, event manager at AZF, said: “Many prominent institutions and companies from a number of the country’s most important sectors have chosen Aspire Zone Foundation to celebrate NSD with their employees and families. This reflects the widespread confidence in the Foundation’s organisational capabilities. Our well-equipped, world-class facilities and venues make Aspire the destination of choice for many organisations and companies.”

By engaging organisations and their employees to contribute to NSD activities, the event helps to support the health of Qatar’s population. AZF also supports people with special needs to access its venues and facilities, truly making it the ideal destination for all.

Through all its activities and programmes, AZF is focused on promoting healthy lifestyles and enhancing awareness amongst participants on the importance of sports. Therefore several health organisations including the Ministry of Health, Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar Diabetes Association, have chosen AZF as the place to celebrate the occasion of NSD.

AZF is both the largest in Qatar in terms of space as well as the range and number of activities featured. Major oil and gas organisations that hold there events at AZF, include the Ministry of Energy and Industry, Qatar Petroleum, Tasweeq, RasGas, Muntajat and Qatar Shell in partnership with Qatar Football Association.

A number of government entities have also selected AZF as the place to hold their NSD activities. They include the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Qatar Stock Exchange, the National Human Rights Committee and Qatar Centre for Voluntary Activities, as well as Aljaish Sports Club.
