Aspire Academy will launched a coaching symposium for a group of the world’s leading football experts today to promote sharing of best practices and expertise, develop recommendations for training methodologies and support the management of young footballers as part of the Academy’s “Aspire in the World Fellows” programme.
Representatives from 20 of the world’s leading clubs, federations and leagues which make up the Aspire Fellows community will take part in the two-day event. These include experts from clubs and organisations such as Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and many more.
The symposium builds on the ambitions of Aspire in the World Fellows, exploring invaluable insights and perspectives on improving training methodologies, nurturing footballing talent and supporting young players in achieving sporting success.
This is the second time that Aspire Academy has organised this gathering in Qatar. It builds on the momentum and progress achieved during the Aspire Academy Global Summit, held in Berlin in October. This event is an integral part of the Aspire in the World Fellows programme and will explore in more detail a number of key topics covered in Berlin including training plan strategies, match and training recovery, integrated training methodology, and preventing soft tissue injuries.
In addition, participants will discuss a wide range of new ideas and innovations on improving training methodologies.
The two-day symposium will also feature a number of presentations, workshops and training sessions led by the visiting experts. A full summary of the key findings from the symposium and details of next steps and a plan of action for the Fellows will be announced at the close of the event.
During their stay in Qatar, the visiting Fellows will also be taken on a tour of Aspire Academy’s facilities and given the opportunity to visit Doha’s best-known tourist attractions and important landmarks, learning about Qatari history and culture.
Commenting on the symposium, Professor Valter Di Salvo, director of Football Performance and Science at Aspire Academy, said: “We are excited to be hosting these leading experts from our Aspire in the World Fellows programme for a second year. This symposium is the perfect way to build on the success of the 2015 Aspire Academy Global Summit on Football Performance and Science. The contributions and engagement of all the Fellows during this past year illustrates the strength of the community and the progress being made in support of our programme’s aims and objectives. We look forward to a fruitful two days, and to welcoming all of our Fellows to Doha once more.”
Aspire Academy first opened its doors in 2004 and is considered to be one of the leading sports institutes in the Middle East. The Academy offers an integrated educational programme of sports development, sports science and academic learning to boys aged 12 to 18. The school develops well-educated sports champions and aims to become the world’s leading sports academy for young athletes by 2020.
