Bosnia and Herzegovina President Zeljko Komsic yesterday met with Qatar’s Foreign Minister HE Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah.

Al-Attiyah conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to the Bosnian president.

President Komsic entrusted al-Attiyah to convey his greetings to HH the Emir, wishing the State of Qatar further progress and prosperity.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija also met with al-Attiyah. They discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in all spheres. A number of prospective joint projects were also discussed.

“We discussed a range of topics of mutual interest,” al-Attiyah later said at a joint press conference with the Bosnian foreign minister.

“I think that we have completed preparing the legal steps needed to move forwards to further co-operation,” he added.

He explained that areas of co-operation between the two countries were identified, with focus on development projects, agriculture sector and infrastructure.

Al-Attiyah expressed his pleasure over the presence of Bosnian companies in Qatar to contribute to the development of infrastructure projects of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The Bosnian minister expressed hope for more partnerships with Qatar.

Al-Attiyah conferred with Sheikh Hussein Kvazovic, the Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a number of members of the Islamic
parliament and officials.

Sheikh Kvazovic extended his thanks to Qatar for the support to Bosnia, especially in rebuilding the Gazi Khosrow Bek Library in Sarajevo and maintenance of some institutes and schools.
