HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani shakes hands with King Mohamed VI of Morocco yesterday after he was honoured with the Order of Muhammadiya. Earlier they held talks at the Royal Palace in Marrakesh. They discussed bilateral relations and issues of common concern. The two leaders witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and a memorandum of understanding (MoU). They include an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion; an MoU on Qatar financing development projects in Morocco, an agreement on industrial co-operation and another on the construction of infrastructure projects. Earlier, upon arrival, the Emir expressed his good wishes to the Moroccan people. “I am confident that this visit will promote the brotherly ties between our two countries and serve the interests of our two brotherly peoples,” the Emir said.
