Hundreds of fans and spectators visited Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development on Tuesday night to participate in a series of football-themed competitions before enjoying a live screening of the Champions League quarter-final first leg between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and FC Barcelona.
At the Qatar Foundation-FC Barcelona Champions League Fan Zone, signed Barca shirts were awarded to those among the crowd who demonstrated skilful footwork. An enthralling match then played out on a giant screen in front of the audience.
The match finished 2-2, with the tie finely poised ahead of next week’s second leg. A lucky winner, who correctly guessed the time of the first goal, will travel to Barcelona to witness the game in person, courtesy of Qatar Foundation.
Tariq al-Sada, head of the press office at Qatar Foundation, said: “We are delighted to welcome so many people to our Fan Zone event, which has been a roaring success.”
Qatar Foundation will open its Fan Zone for the second leg of the Barca vs PSG tie, beginning at 8pm, on April 10.
Qatar Foundation’s ongoing partnership with Barca is underpinned by a shared mission to unlock human potential and encourage the pursuit of excellence in young people worldwide.
