The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has achieved another milestone in its e- services by inviting job applications through its iPhone app at the ongoing 6th Qatar Career Fair 2013.
Through the specific application available at the Apple app store, a job seeker can also apply through his or her iPhone for various available jobs matching his or her qualifications and experiences. The hassle-free recruitment drive drew interest from a large number of visitors with many of them inquiring about the procedures at Kahramaa pavilion at Qatar National Convention Centre.
Kahramaa has invited job applications for 80 vacant positions in different departments. These include opportunities in technical fields for promising Qatari graduates and cadres in such engineering areas as electrical, mechanical, civil, electronic, and IT etc and administrative departments. The highest number of vacant positions fall in the technical sector.
Apart from the available jobs, Kahramaa has also offered total 30 scholarships for a number of educational programmes and personal development opportunities. Ten scholarships each have been allocated to pursue courses in electrical, mechanical engineering fields while remaining 10 has been equally divided between civil engineering and administrative areas.
The whole recruitment procedures are likely to be accomplished within two weeks after the Career Fair. After the scrutiny of applicants, shortlisted candidates will be called for interview by the departments’ managers and final selections will be announced accordingly.
Focusing Individual Development Programme (IDP), Kahramaa has reached agreements with a number of institutes, colleges, universities and learning institutions duly approved by Supreme Education Council (SEC) for its employees’ career developments. Through the programme, a Qatari employee can apply for higher studies fulfilling the eligibility to enhance professionalism, skills and knowledge at par with the global standards.
Kahramaa also provides complete support to its Qatari employees for the development of their English language proficiency inside and outside Qatar after analysing the skills and competencies of staff.
