Aspire Zone Foundation recently hosted an intensive training camp for the Australian National Swim Team. Organised from July 19-29, the camp was especially tailored to help the team prepare for the 16th FINA World Championships taking place in Kazan, Russia, from July 24 to August 9, 2015.
It took place at the state-of-the-art Hamad Aquatic Centre as well as a number of other world-class facilities at Aspire Zone. During their visit, the team stayed at the Torch Hotel.
This is the first time that Aspire Zone Foundation has hosted the entire Australian National Swim Team, and follows the success of several training camps that have previously been organised for smaller groups of team members.
Widely regarded as one of world’s strongest swim teams, the Australian national swim team comprises many internationally-recognised athletes including Cate Campbell, Emily Seebohm and Grant Hackett.
Commenting on the training camp, Aspire Zone Foundation Corporate Communications manager Hussain al-Qahtani said: “We’re delighted to host the entire Australian National Swim Team for the first time at Aspire Zone, and thrilled to be playing a role in helping them prepare for the 16th FINA World Championships. The team’s return to Aspire Zone builds on the success of smaller training camps we have previously hosted for them and serves as a testament to the great benefits our state-of-the-art facilities offer to the world’s leading sports teams and athletes. We wish the Australian National Swim Team the best of luck at the FINA Championships, and look forward to welcoming them back to the Aspire Zone in the future.”
Commenting on the camp, Australian National Swimming Team head coach Jacco Verhaeren said: “The facilities and accommodation at Aspire Zone have been wonderful and have helped us to put the final touches to our preparations for the 16th FINA World Championships in the best way possible. We were provided with world-class facilities in one convenient location. Our experience here has been excellent and we would like to thank Aspire Zone for hosting us again, and look forward to returning in the future.”
