Rashad Woods scored a whopping 50 points as Al Sadd crushed Al Wakrah 100-69 in the Qatar Cup Basketball being played at Al Gharafa Sports Club.
Woods was in his elements on the day as he single handedly took Al Sadd to victory. The next best scorer for the winners was 16 from Tyrone Anderson. Woods’ scored most of his points from field, with 17 of them being 2-pointer and three coming from 3-pointers.
He also scored 7 points from free throws and a further three from rebounds.
For Al Wakrah, Abdelrahman Osama scored 23 points, followed by 18 from Adamu Saaka. Al Sadd scored 29 points from turnovers, while Wakrah could only muster four.
In another exciting match, Al Arabi edged out Al Rayyan 94-93. The match went to the fourth period with Arabi leading by six points, but Rayyan bounced back to make it a close finish.
Tanguy Ngombo top-scored with 40 points for Al Arabi, while Seck Oumar and Moutasim Ibnomer contributed 16 points each. For Rayyan, Ismail Yasseen scored 28 points, followed by 22 from Armond Bolds and 18 from Mohamed Hassan.
In today’s matches, Al Shamal will take on El Jaish at 5pm and Al Gharafa face Qatar Club at 7 pm.
