Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji) organised a football tournament, hosting a number of local and international companies at Al Sadd Sports Club.
The five-a-side football tournament was held in support of Qatar’s National Sport Day and in line with the bank’s corporate social responsibility.
The tournament involved teams from various corporations and saw their enthusiastic participation. On display were high levels of sportsmanship and a positive team spirit between all the competing groups.
“al khaliji is about building relationships and we believe this is the reason for our continued success. These events are an opportunity for us to let our valued clients know how much we appreciate their business and to engage in a healthy interaction with other corporations. This friendly competition further cements our relationships and strengthens our bond,” said Fahad al-Khalifa, al khaliji’s Group chief executive officer.
A total of 10 teams participated in the competition, including Qatar Investment Authority, Qatar Development Bank, Ooredoo, Al Majed Group, Tasweeq QIPMC, Qatar Airways, Mannai Corporation, Ernst & Young, Gulf English School and a team from al khaliji.
The first place was awarded to Ooredoo, followed by Ernst & Young in second place and Gulf English School in third.
The bank’s larger corporate social responsibility programme encompasses all facets of community development in Qatar, tackling environmental sustainability, social and cultural development, and humanitarian efforts.
